1-1 1/2 cups
½ cup natural peanut butter or almond butter
Juice from 1 lime
¼ cup tamari* (low sodium), Bragg Liquid Aminos or coconut aminos (for soy-free)
1 tablespoon pure maple syrup or coconut nectar or agave
1 teaspoon fresh ginger, grated or 1/2 teaspoon ginger powder
2 cloves of garlic, grated
¼- 1/2 teaspoon red pepper flakes or 1 teaspoon hot sauce
hot water (about ¼ cup), to reach desired consistency
1. Place all ingredients in a bowl and wisk together. Add more water if the sauce is too thick.
To make nut-free, use sunflower seed butter or tahini.
Recipe can be easily cut in half or doubled.
*Tamari is gluten-free soy sauce.
