About Me

My name is Carrie Weldy. I am passionate about leading a healthy lifestyle and I want to share my knowledge with you!

Not only did I receive my training from the Institute for Integrative Nutrition, where I learned more than one hundred dietary theories and studied a variety of practical lifestyle coaching methods, I also earned a Bachelor's of Science Degree in Exercise Science from Arizona State University in 2001.  After working in the fitness industry for a few years, I returned to school and became a Surgical Technologist.Working in the clinical healthcare setting really opened my eyes and I realized the power of food and its role in overall health. Why swallow pills when you can just eat REAL food?

I personally "walk the talk." I thrive on a whole foods plant-based diet. My husband, Pete, and I share a love of running and just being active in general. I have completed 15 full marathons and am now taking my running to the next level by training with the goal of qualifying for the 2020 Olympic Trials Marathon. Please visit my running blog www.carrieweldy.wordpress.com and follow my journey.

I am also passionate about cooking and love to experiment with new ingredients in the kitchen where I revamp recipes to create nourishing and delicious dishes. Eating healthy meals can really be enjoyable, inexpensive, and fast (I'll show you how)! Because of my love of plant-based cooking/eating, I work part-time in the kitchen at a local vegan cafe, 24 Carrots.
